Solutions / Legacy Modernization

Modernise legacy systems without stopping the business.

Ageing applications carry decades of business logic. We assess them properly, then replace or re-architect them step by step, keeping operations running throughout.

Sound Familiar?

The problems we're usually called in to solve.

Knowledge held by a few people

Only a handful of people understand the system, and they may not be around much longer.

Unsupported technology

Old frameworks, databases and operating systems are out of support and create real security exposure.

Every change is slow

Simple changes take weeks, releases are risky and new integrations are almost impossible.

A failed rewrite

A previous attempt to replace everything at once ran over budget and was abandoned.

What We Build

Capabilities we deliver end to end.

Legacy Assessment

Code, data and dependency analysis to map what the system really does, with risks and options costed.

Incremental Replacement

The strangler-fig pattern: new services take over one capability at a time behind a stable interface.

Cloud Migration

Re-host, re-platform or re-architect workloads to the cloud, choosing the right path per component.

Data Migration

Mapping, cleansing and reconciled migration with rehearsals and rollback plans.

APIs Around Legacy Cores

Expose legacy functions through modern APIs so new channels can launch before the core is replaced.

AI-Assisted Code Analysis

Use LLM tooling to document undocumented code, trace business rules and speed up safe refactoring.

How We Work

One clear path, six stages.

Discover → Define → Design → Build → Launch → Evolve. You see working software every sprint and approve each stage before the next begins.

Engagement

How this usually runs.

Modernisation starts with a fixed-price assessment. Replacement is then delivered by a dedicated team in stages, each with its own go-live and rollback plan.

FAQ

Common questions.

Rewrite, re-platform or refactor — which is right?

It varies by component. The assessment scores each part of the system on business value, risk and technical condition, then recommends the lowest-risk path for each.

Will there be downtime?

We plan cut-overs to avoid it wherever possible, running old and new side by side and switching traffic gradually.

Our original developers have left. Can you still help?

Yes. That is the most common situation. Code analysis, database reverse-engineering and interviews with long-standing users rebuild the missing knowledge.

How do we know the new system behaves the same?

We capture current behaviour as automated regression tests and reconcile data between old and new systems before each switch-over.
